AVENGERS (and Asgardians I guess) ASSEMBLE
HEY EINMAL!
So we have roughly a million Marvel guys now and that is completely awesome. What up, million Marvels!
I'm just putting this up because not all of us are from the same canon point, and I'm noticing some behind-the-scenes running around and confusion about who, exactly, knows what about what/who/when/where/how/why. So if we could all get on the same page, that would be really helpful, and I think make it easier to play for everyone.
I don't know how to actually code but here is a little format thing you can follow if it helps!
Character: Thor Odinson
Canon point: Immediately post-Avengers (he was pulled to Schwanheim mid-tesseracting back to Asgard)
Since then?: (Stuff that's immediately relevant to other Marvels, I mean:) Thor has been in Schwanheim for exactly one week (since RD2). He tracked Loki and Mjolnir to the forest but hasn't found the tesseract yet. He confronted Loki while Loki was stuck in wolf form, was attacked by the wolf, and spent several days trying to chase him up. He finally got to talk to Loki again after Loki went all foundling-Jotunn. Now he's all up in this Hero of the Mountains post.
Knowledge: He obviously knows everything that was revealed in Thor and The Avengers. He's not likely to know much of anything from other Marvel movies, except what was explicitly mentioned to him in The Avengers (likewise, I'm currently operating under the assumption that he didn't tell any teammates anything that wasn't in The Avengers dialogue). He also now knows that Loki and Sif are together and has not told this to anyone. So far, he's been asking his fellow Avengers to keep Loki's future a secret from him.
Permissions: Please ask me before having your character discuss any information about Asgard, the Rainbow Bridge, Loki, etc. under the assumption that Thor told them.

Character: The Lady Sif
Canon Point: Post-Thor, Pre-Avengers
Since Then?: Sif has been in Schwanheim for just over three in-game weeks. Since then, she’s spent a decent chunk of her time with Loki and while she certainly hasn’t forgiven him for what he did in the film, they have reached something of an understanding with their naked parts. She’s met up with Thor, lost Thor, and been reunited with him. Yay, buddies. Now, she’s trying to kill herself a hero of the mountains.
Knowledge: Sif has no idea what happens in Thor’s future, and they’ve reached a non-verbal agreement that she’s not going to ask about it. She’s got the sense that it isn’t good, and she isn’t looking closely at why. She’s asked Natasha not tell her about the future, and will ask the same of anyone else from that time. She knows that Nicole isn’t Tasha’s real name and that she comes from a time that would allow her to know who Thor and Loki are, but she won’t be talking about or disclosing either item. Sif keeps her shit locked down, because she is just not gifted at keeping secrets.
Also: when I first joined the game, we got a small influx of Marvel peeps (Tony, Steve, Clint and Thor) – the game didn’t wind up working for them, and everyone left before their was any significant CR. Loki and Sif ICly searched for Thor and that’s come up in threads, but the other three were such non-occurrences that for the sake of cleaner storytelling, I’m going to retcon any meeting between them and Sif.
Permissions: Sif doesn’t know any of you Marvels, so obviously she has no deets to give. She found out Loki was Jotunn (frost giant) several weeks ago, and wouldn’t openly comment on why Loki’s skin is blue and what that means in Asgardian culture. She’s expressed in-game that she doesn’t want to know about future timelines, so please be respectful of that in threads.

Canon point: Just after his fall from the Bifrost after Thor (2011)
Since then?: He's been in-game 26 days (OOC since January), which means he's been around the longest (and that means he's the eldest and you should all PAY ATTENTION TO HIM, okay, because he's clearly always right about EVERYTHING.) GIven canon point, he's more in the midst of identity crisis than he is outright villainous.
At first he seized the opportunity to be a Hero without being in Thor's shadow, but he quickly got frustrated with the incompetent NPCs and then Anya, the avatar of balance, scared the shit out of him with how powerful she was. Since then it's been a fight over what he considers his own identity, whether it be Jotunn or Aesir or animal form or what-have-you. Anya helped him decide that shapeshifting meant he could be what he wanted to be. He's gone through the arrival and departure of several Avengers, but he didn't really get to know any of them (though he will recognize Clint Barton, whom he met while he was in the form of a cat. He learned nothing from this encounter except that Barton wields a bow and that Barton kind of intrigues him, which I'm glad I got right because that was before the Avengers movie came out yay).
Of the metaplot, Loki knows that this world is a constant fight between the forces of Order and Chaos. The King is Order; the thorns are Chaos.
Eventually, Loki decided that he was going to be a villain because he didn't want to hang out with these loser heroes (he's looking at you, Sif), and so he figured that he would step into the villain role so that heroes could be heroic and fulfill their roles, thus contributing to the overall power of Order, and thus helping defeat the thorns. This is mostly a way for him to still feel powerful and manly while also being cool and ironic and pretending he's better than Thor, and also retaining Sif as an ally. The result is that most people in Schwanheim think he's either schizophrenic and can't decide if he's good or evil, or that he's just a big softy who's faking all the mean stuff. Both conclusions frustrate him to no end, which I find hilarious.
Sif has been a huge influence on him, mitigating a lot of his self-hatred by refusing to kill him (lol) and occasionally calling him out on his bullshit. She's managed to make their old friendships overwhelm what she sees as Loki's temporary insanity. Loki doesn't entirely see it that way, but the fact that she's an ally when he believes she should hate him makes him feel a lot more confident in himself.
Recently, a Thor apped and then dropped, and then another Thor came in, and it sent Loki into something of an emotional tailspin. He ended up getting stuck in the form of a wolf, because of that and because he'd been using his shapeshifting magic too heavily. He got out of that a couple in-game days ago, and promptly his role was changed from Wizard to Foundling Prince, because I like tormenting him. Now he's having a very difficult time not being in the form of a Jotunn, and his Jotunn powers are strong as balls. His identity crisis is still going, though it's starting to slowly solidify in the direction of atonement for what he's done, but without giving up his anger at Thor, Odin, etc.
Okay so that was tl;dr, my apologies.
Knowledge: He's unaware of the Avengers or of his actions on Earth. He knows everything up to the point of the Bifrost's fall. This might change with his current log with Thor.
Permissions: Feel free to fuck with him all you like.

messagesharing! Honestly, everything is in her profile. I went as in-depth as I could get, so anything not covered below is in her journal.CHARACTER: Natasha Romanova - a.k.a. Romanov (since Thor used her movie last name, and she canonically has at least 3 spellings). She is using the alias Nicole Rushman and I really would prefer no one spout her real name at this time.
CANON-POINT: Post-Avengers, by three weeks. She was mucking about with Barton, taking what they would constitute as a vacation; which is minor, easy missions with a some relaxation in between. Sight-seeing, ooo! Her last mission was in Tokyo before arriving in the game.
SINCE THEN?: She's been here for one day in game and mostly had orb conversations. The only two people she met in person, those scenes are still going. Now, she's part of the Hero of the Mountain gig, having grabbed Hawkeye to tag along.
KNOWLEDGE: Since she's 90% movie version with comic stuffs as filler, I'll only incorporate comic things when permission has been granted; otherwise, she knows all things Thor, Iron Man 2, and Avengers. Given her job, I'll probably be asking players how much personal information she can have, since it's likely she's read everyone's file and then some.
PERMISSIONS: I have a general permissions post up, but Marvel-wise, it's best to just ask, though I'm game for a lot of things. I've already worked out details with Bee and Ka0S for their pups, and covered the alias/name thing above.

Clint knows what SHIELD knows and that's it. I'd...need to rewatch Thor and Avengers to be 100% to be honest, but in terms of Thor info...well they were still pretty in the dark about Thor and Thor-related things. They had the cube at the end but zero idea what it was, they knew Thor was from a different dimension thanks to Erik and Jane's data and resulting theorizing, they knew about the crazy weirdness at the end, they knew the hammer was CLEARLY absurdly advanced tech of some kind...but that's about it, they were pretty much running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to figure out wtf was going on since they didn't have any prior information to go off of. Barton himself, obviously, didn't really have too much involvement aside from trying to play damage control with...zero effectiveness since the orders got cancelled.

In terms of SHIELD's knowledge, I figured they might have gotten some more information after partnering with Selvig. I mean, they at least know Thor's name in The Avengers, which is not true in Thor itself. >>; But, of course, most of Selvig's info is "he might be from fairytale Asgard except it's real? idk? it's really confusing? also there's a way to get there but we don't know what it is??????"

Really, I'd like to build on their relationship in this game, for a number of reasons, like, it'd be in character for Tasha to get to know her teammates better in terms of trust, etc.

Is there anything that's Norse myth and not Avengers in origin that you'd like her to keep to herself? I mean, the myths seem pretty well known even in their world, so I feel like this may not be an issue at all. But it's always better to check, right?
