I'm planning on tossing Liara into the Forest mystery, but before I put an Orb post up, I wanted to check and see if there is anyone who is interested in doing a Log in the regrowing white forest. I've enjoyed logging with Fran, but I thought it might be a good chance to get a few characters together all at the same time (Gunpei or Ryo, maybe, Yuan or Peeta, Kotoha, Shin'drin or Hawk, heck, Faolan's more than welcome, too...did I miss anyone? Please come along, too. Except Shin. Silly dreamer can sit there and pout. Or astral project. Whatever). I guess I'm just trying to get something going with a few of us, since the game's small right now.

Anyone's interested, let me know. I don't hear anything by, oh, tomorrow night (that's Friday night), I'll probably just toss up an Orb post and open it up to 'action'.

Fran, if we do get a log running, is there any big set-up points I should look at for the plot? Such as heading for that broken path and going towards the tower, or anything?

Oh, unrelated note here: Ember, you said Yuan would be willing to do some paperwork, if I remember correctly. If Liara approaches him in the next few days about taking charge of the Lighthouse outside of the Port town, hiring workers to fix it up, cleaning up the grounds, finding a caretaker or two for when the heroes aren't there, that kind of thing, would he be interested? She'd ask him because a) he is a Prince, and she hopes that means he can handle that kind of work, and b) he's never seen a boat, and she did say she was going to show him one. What better place than the biggest Port in Einmal, right? Just let me know whenever on that, there's no rush to get the lighthouse stuff started.

The other things first: I will start by saying I'm putting Selene on hiatus. I'll finish working on tags that are out there, but nothing new for a little while. Just a heads up for everyone.

I'm also going to be slower than usual for a month or two, probably, because of work and some other commitments, but I will still be around with Liara.

Okay. The '+' first. Think I'm all caught up on tags for Selene, but I have to get ready for work, so I'll catch up with Liara tonight when I get home. If I missed a tag tomorrow morning (Saturday), lemme know, I'll grab it, and sorry.

Okay, now, to PLOT.

From mid-afternoon on GHB 16 (calendar shows it planned for the week of 1-13 right now) until the morning of GHB 19 (week of 2-10), Selene will be a wolf. Four legs, can't speak, etc. Normally, she's got perfect control of herself as a wolf, but it's been a long time since she let herself transform during the moon (back home, it was frowned upon because of her semi-criminal background), so she might be a little on edge, especially on the 16th. She will also probably head out late on the 17th to investigate the thorns, since she cannot speak with anyone, but might mention this plan to people ahead of time.

So I'm asking about a couple of things:

1 - Is there anyone interested in working on some kind of plot with a slightly mad werewolf threatening folks (locals or heroes or both) on the evening of the 16th?

2 - Is there anyone interested in setting up some kind of 'expedition' to investigate the thorns, especially after all of those soldiers came back a couple of days ago (yes, Fran, I did see that).

Replies here would probably be best, so others can see if anyone is interested, but PMs or IM work, too. Both of these things will probably happen, anyway, but there is a lot I will probably handwave unless someone is interested in playing it out somewhat more.

P.S. Kay and Faolan? Any fullmoon ideas? Always up for wolfy stuff and all.

What sort of things do you guys want to see happen in game? What sort of plots ideas do you have? What little things would you love to be able to do? This is your post to ramble on and reply to others to come up with ideas!

I talked about this on plurk, but I'd like to actually set it in motion now that I'm done with tests until the beginning of December!

Coyote hasn't done much lately (my fault, let's be real) and he's bored. And when he's bored he does goofy stuff. He is going to, sometime in the next IC day or so, shapeshift into a large black dragon, grab somebody, and climb up the tallest tower of the castle and beat his chest like a giant gorilla.

Anyone who seeks to rescue the damsel in distress will find that his body is fluid, but after a few good hits he will fall over dramatically 'DEAD'.

Should you then turn your head in the other direction for a moment, you will find that there is no longer a dragon, but instead a little black puppy. awww.

(Anyone familiar with Coyote may notice some distinctive markings on the dragon that are... suspicious.)

What I need from you guys is volunteers! Who would like to be kidnapped by a pretend!dragon? And who would like to rescue the damsel?

For anyone who's got a character who would know or care, Cho's been in a coma type state since the end of the ice maze plot. I have a log here that was originally only supposed to go through the 4th of the month, but I've extended it to the sixth now. Which makes it current. And it's possible it may go on longer, I'm not sure yet.

I would imagine the natives are having fun with it, and probably trying to find a prince, since that's kind of what you tend to do with sleeping princesses in fairy stories.

Anyway, yeah, just kind of putting it out there cause I know I didn't really talk about it in an official way when it initially happened.

During the night of the New Moon the small fleeting fires in the White Forest will come to an end...

As Benu has decided that it's far more efficient to just burn the entire place to the ground to find what she's looking for.

Sometime during the night, the blaze will start and quickly spread. The light from this will cause the Two Faced Forest to wall up again as it'll be about the strength of moonlight and should bring the entire town running to the walls to see the blaze.

Does anyone want a log for any of this or shall it just be mentioned in the next day change? There'll be a log for going through the smoldering remains and finding the tower hidden in the forest after.

Anyone who has powers of foresight in any form may start to get images and impressions of fire and ice. Fire in a forest that's unfamiliar with the thought of a tower, and ice in a field with the thought of a river. Feel free to make up additional things that may or may not be right since prophecy is never 100% accurate! (also fell free to pester privately for more info if you wish!)

Just as I posted a slowatus. orz

In the log with the Magic Peddler, Ginia picked up a charm that encourages her to go out and find shiny things and boosts her mood every time she steals something, also encouraging her to go out for bigger and better things (basically making her addicted to stealing). Through RD 15, she went on a stealing spree, targeting NPCs (as noted in the day change for the 16th). She'll continue to steal from NPCs, but now it's time to get other people involved.

Who wants to have something stolen? Ginia can hide in plain sight as long as there are shadows within ten feet, and teleport via shadows to somewhere she's seen and if it's within twenty feet (exhaustion kicks in after over use). She can also fight with knives, though she'd be far more inclined to get away and disappear.

I'm also open to her being caught/chased if anyone is up for that.

As a note, this is something that will be happening over the next few (in-game) days, so larger items won't be targeted until later on.

So, yeah, our log has kind of fallen behind. I talked it over with Fran a bit, and I have a suggestion that might get it wrapped up faster.

Split the group. Cho and Loki can follow the fainter path, suggesting that Liara take the stronger one if she's going to try and read the traces of the spell with science. Mara and I will speed Cho and Loki (Choki?) through the faint path, get the info available there, and then rejoin the rest of the group. Then Liara, Rose, and Bakura can fill them in on what they missed, wrapping the whole thing up nicely with a couple of huge time skips. And then we can get out there and start sharing the information IC.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Cookies?

Pardon the belated getting this up!

Everyone who's answered Loki's call, please track the entire log if you haven't already since it doesn't seem to be going in reply fashion, so replies will be missed!

When would you guys like this fight to go down? And did you want a fresh log with the Hero going up to use? Toss all your questions here, plot amongst yourselves.

Hello everyone!

So, Fran and I are doing a slightly plotty thing with Sif and Snow. Sif is going to take Snow to Kori to help with the visions, and she is going to wind up getting them instead. This is a temporary thing, that will last one in-game day.

So, Sif gets a day of visions and Snow she is SLIGHTLY more sane. Only slightly.

The reason I’m posting is that I’m going to do an orb post with Sif. She doesn’t have nearly as much experience with these things as Snow, and will be in sort of sensory overload. If there is anything in your character’s immediate future that you would like Sif to hint at/get really vague and maddeningly nonspecific visions of, let me know!

If you don’t want to participate, no worries! Just don’t respond to the orb.

Hey, Eswareites!

So. As I'm sure many of you have noticed, I've...more or less dropped off the face of the game. I've held up threads and dropped threads and generally been awful. And I didn't want that to continue. So, after talking with the mod, some changes have been made.

The first and most notable of these is that I'm changing Giles' role, from Ghostly Mentor to physical, really-truly-corporeal Sage. What happened for reference is that he disappeared during the attack on the old castle, before being able to breach the barrier. No traces of him will be found, because he's actually going to wake up on a farm with Benu. And Benu, being the kind, generous ~~agent of Chaos~~ soul she is, is going to give Giles a physical body in exchange for a favor.

She'll also erase his memory of this until she decides to call in her favor so, seriously, don't ask him.

So Giles will wake up a while away from Schwanheim thinking that it's still the night after the ball - he won't remember anything after the dreams from the dream plot, and even some of those probably got a bit scrambled. So, you guys can fill him in! If you want to, of course.

I know return you to your regularly scheduled plottings.

Hey Guys!

This is the NPC account for the personified beast head. Fun. As the post mentioned, all heroes are being STRONGLY encouraged by the townspeople to attend the ball. This is to give characters who wouldn’t normally attend a party an excuse to join. The party itself is legit: chuck your characters in! The townspeople will likely want them to mingle, and will encourage heroes who have never met to greet one another.

If you have an idea of something fun for the party to have: fortune tellers, spiked punch, a magic show, feel free to post a sub thread for it! No need to ask, as long as it is an opt-in thing.

Hey everyone! So, when we were talking about potential plots, there was a lot of interest in both the masquerade ball and the dream thread. I am thinking of a way to combine the two. Here are my thoughts:

So, a couple of weeks ago, we had a plotting meme. And one such plot that I jumped on the bandwagon of, I was considering putting into fruition starting next week (or tomorrow, in game terms).

To sum up, as best as I can:

Now, here's where the (hopefully) fun part comes in. Giles' curse is meant to keep him busy and out the witch's hair for a bit. He has been cursed to stay in the bottle, only able to come out if someone lets him out. And, if they do...well, he has to pay them back. And the mods have very kindly cleared him to temporarily have enough power to do so, via a power that might best be described as a one time Limited Wish.

First and foremost, is this a good timeline for people? Would another day work better? Secondly, is this something people would be interested in at all?

Thirdly, well...plot amongst yourselves. Or plot with me. What kind of wishes are your characters likely to make, do you want the effects to be permanent, can the effects be permanent, are your characters likely to make wishes that affect other people, do you have any suggested tweaks or edits that might make things run more smoothly...stuff to that effect.
